2027: APC Diaspora Directorate Unveils 5-Point Plan for Tinubu's Re-election

Abuja —Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the Directorate of Diaspora Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has unveiled a five-point strategic action plan to drive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid.

The Directorate said the plan is designed to build a coordinated global network of Nigerians in the diaspora to support campaign communication, community engagement and grassroots mobilisation.

Addressing a press briefing in Abuja, the Director of the Directorate, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said President Tinubu has chosen to fix Nigeria's longstanding structural problems rather than manage existing failures.

"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has decided not to manage our failures, but to boldly confront whatever it takes to fix the system. And it takes a courageous and selfless leader to do that," she said.

Dabiri-Erewa explained that the five-point plan will focus on international advocacy, voter education, strategic communication of government reforms, and countering misinformation about the administration.

A key component, she disclosed, is "Operation Tell Your Story" — an initiative that will equip Nigerians abroad with short videos, infographics and other materials to explain government policies and achievements.

She added that the Directorate will encourage transparent and structured diaspora fundraising to support campaign activities, town hall meetings and mobilisation efforts in line with extant laws.

According to her, the Directorate will also serve as a rapid-response hub to provide credible data and positive narratives on Nigeria's investment climate and economic stabilisation efforts.

"Nigerians abroad are not outsiders. They are stakeholders. They are our doctors, nurses, engineers, students, traders, innovators and community leaders, who send over $20 billion annually back home in remittances," Dabiri-Erewa stated.

While noting that diaspora voting remains under legislative consideration, she expressed optimism that the National Assembly would give it attention, given the economic and professional ties of Nigerians abroad to the country.

The Secretary of the Directorate, Hon. Udeme Ukpe, in a statement after the briefing, called on the media to partner with the Directorate to promote constructive engagement and communicate its programmes as the campaign transitions from reforms to prosperity.
