Sports Development, Panacea To Insecurity

Sports Personality and owner of Rhonda Precious Football Academy, Okpe Prince say the Government needs to support development of the sports sector in Nigeria as a way to reduce crime also also promote unity

Okpe Prince said Nigeria is more divided than ever and crime rate is now out of proportion but sports development can solve these issues.

Speaking to Niger Delta Insider, Okpe Prince said if properly supported, The Sports sector can help to promote Nigeria positively to the internationally community and also help reduce insecurity

"Crime rate in the country is very unbearable, lots of these crimes are committed by youths that are unemployed. Its very difficult for the Government to accommodate them but through Sports, lots of these youths can be engaged."

"Sport provides an important platform for youths to develop skills which aids in crime reduction and also building national unity, these skills can help them become very successful in life"

He further said that the sports sector in Nigeria is gradually decaying, from poor infrastructure, poor funding and poor sports administration. He said its very surprising because in today's world many countries and cities throughout the world have incorporated sports events into their economic development

"The Sports sectors of capped at $70 billion in America alone. Thats much more than the 2 times Nigeria's annual budget. The English premier league alone rakes in hundreds of millions of Pounds annually. The money circulating these sector is so huge that if the Government should focus heavily on sports development, it will make many youths in Nigeria millionaires"

Okpe Prince is a passionate Sports developer and personality that owns a Football Academy called, Rhonda Precious Football Academy located in Abuja.

Okpe Prince said he launched the Academy to help talented footballers get the chance to achieve their dreams. He said there are many footballer out there but what they need is a platform that will help them improve their skills and also help them become successful footballers
