APC Alleges Fresh Plot To Kill Aregbesola

A faction of the All Progressive Congress in Osun on Tuesday alerted Nigerians to an alleged plot to kill Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

A statement by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Abiodun Agboola, said that as the former Governor leads members of the party to a federal constituency meeting in Iwo on Tuesday, there are alleged plans to attack Aregbesola.

The party called attention to last week attempt to burn down his old campaign office The Oranmiyan House and the attack on his convoy in Osogbo, the state capital on Monday.

“We wish to inform the general public and security agencies in the State of a plot to kill the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, by default by the state government sponsored political thugs.

“We said by default because the plan was to lay ambush for the Minister's entourage and deal them massive attacks on his way to visit Iwo Federal Constituency today.”

Aggoola said the plan which was hatched at the Okefia government house Monday night was to ensure that the Iwo federal constituency meeting is stopped.

The statement claimed that the Governor Oyetola's group was pained that the Minister escaped the assassination plot on Monday.
