BREAKING: Osimhen, Oshoala Emerge African Players Of The Year

Super Eagles and Napoli Striker,  Victor  Osimhen, has emerged the 2024 African Player of the Year.

Osimhen beats Egypt’s Mohamed Salah of Egypt and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi to win the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
With his victory tonight Osimhen joins the list of Super Eagles players such as Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amuneke,  Victor Ikpeba and Nwankwo Kanu who had won the prestigious continental award.

Osimhen was named the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Player of the Year for the 2022/23 Serie A season earlier this month.
Osimhen also made history as the first Nigerian player to make the top ten as he was ranked  number eighth in the 2023 Ballon d’Or award held in Paris.
In the women category Oshoala made history as the first woman to win the award for a record six times.
