Delta Exco, Legislature Luck Horns In Novelty Football Match Tomorrow Saturday.

All is now set for the novelty football match between members of the Delta State House of Assembly and members of the State Executive Council. 

The face off, scheduled for 4pm tomorrow Saturday, 21st June 2025, at Stephen Keshi’s Stadium in Asaba, is being organized as part of activities marking the 2nd anniversary of the 8th Assembly of the Delta State House of Assembly.

It was gathered that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who turned 62, forty eight hours to the friendly football match, will captain the State Executive Council’s crack team, while a younger 46 year old Speaker of the State Legislature and Chief Host of the game, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor is the captain of the State Assembly’s squad.

Chief Press Secretary, CPS to the Speaker, Nkem Nwaeke, had explained that the celebrity game is to further promote unity, teamwork, healthy competition and camaraderie amongst members of the Legislative and Executive arms of the Delta State government.

He disclosed that on Sunday, 22nd June 2025, the Speaker will lead members of the 8th Assembly for thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 34 Headquarters, Unity Model Parish, behind Junior Staff Quarters, Asaba.

Nwaeke said the thanksgiving, scheduled for 10am, will climax with a reception for guests, at the Legislators' Quarters, Okpanam Road, Asaba.

The CPS on behalf of his Principal, invites Deltans to be part of the programmes, aimed at fostering unity, peace and development in the state.
