Former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okowa’s defection was announced by Senator James Manager after a meeting in Asaba, Delta State.
The announcement of his defection followed the news of the defection of the Governor of Delta State after the same meeting held at the Government House.
Manager said that all the members of the PDP took the decision to dump their party which he described as a sinking boat.
He said, “All PDP members in the state, including the governor, former Governor Okowa, the Speaker, the state party chairman, all the local government chairmen and others, have agreed to move to the APC. We cannot continue to be in a sinking boat.”
Okowa who was running made to the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the PDP in the 2023 General elections has assured earlier that the party members would not make a wrong choice.
He reportedly spoke in his dialect after the meeting
