GOVERNOR BAGO WOOS DIASPORA INVESTORS TO NIGER STATE

As part of the sidelines events of the just concluded Canada-Nigeria Business Summit, the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on Diaspora Investors particularly Nigerians and their Partners in Canada to come to Niger State to cause an Agricultural Revolution.

Governor Bago informed the Diaspora Business
Community in Toronto, Canada, that, Niger State is not only ready for the establishment of Livestock Markets but has also signed Four Component Agreements with the Brazilian Government in Sugar Plantation Agriculture.

He also added that he has set aside of a gift of 100 hectares of land for Nollywood, offer for land and farm implements for Diaspora agriculture in Niger State.

Another package and incentive is the offer of the famous Zuma Rock Hotel for Hospital in collaboration with Nigerian-Canadian Medical Doctors.

Similarly, Sen Victor Umeh, Chairman Senate Committee on Diaspora, Non Governmental Organizations and Civil Societies, gave assurances of support by the National Assembly for robust legislations that will encourage Diaspora invstment for homeland development.

Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NiDCOM), who facilitated and coordinated the FireSide Chat , along with Ceo Canada Vendors , Maryam Murtala ,said the meeting was intentional to galvanize States' involvement in Diaspora investment.

During the engaging chat, Nigerians resident in Canada, including Councillor Ayo Owodunni and Councillòr Khadijat, emphasized their desire to collaborate with their Country of origin for National Development.
