Posted by: Quickresponse | December 4, 2023

The airstrike that occurred at Tudun Biri village in Kaduna State on Sunday, which resulted in numerous villager deaths and numerous injuries, has been attributed to the Nigerian Army.

At the conclusion of an emergency security meeting on Monday, Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, verified this incident.

An unmanned aerial vehicle targeted several areas of the community on Sunday night while the residents were celebrating Maulud, a festival honoring the birth of Prophet Muhammad, according to a previous report from Channels TV. The number of those killed was not immediately known.

The Kaduna state government called an emergency security meeting after the event, and Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, the deputy governor, presided over it on Monday.
Key information about the incident was disclosed at a meeting that was attended by representatives of the Tudun Biri community, officials of security services, and religious and traditional authorities.

Samuel Aruwan addressed the media following the private security meeting and said that the bombing of the villagers was regrettable and unintentional.
The Nigerian Army’s Commissioner clarified that the operation unintentionally harmed local residents as the forces were conducting a routine raid against local insurgents.

He also revealed that the injured have been sent to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for medical attention and that search and rescue efforts are still ongoing.
