Ondo Guber Poll: Agboola Wins PDP Primary

Mr. Ajayi Agboola, a former Deputy Governor of Ondo State under late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s first term, has won the 2024 PDP governorship primary election conducted today in Akure.
Agboola scored 264 votes to beat his closest rival, Mr. Kolade Akinjo who had 157votes.

Adeolu Akinwunmi polled 64 votes; Sola Ebiseni scored 99 votes; Bamidele Akingboye 24 votes; Bosun Arebuwa scored 2 votes and John Ola Mafo polled 9 votes, respectively.

The People Democratic Party’s primary election was conducted in an atmosphere of peace at the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome) in Akure, by 7-Man Committee chairs by the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Ph.D.

Sen. Ewhrudjakpo had earlier told reporters that a total of 627 delegates would vote in the primary, and assured everyone of free, fair and credible election.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Ondo State Governorship election is slated for Saturday 16 November 2024.
