Posted by: Quickresponse | February 1, 2023

Operatives of the C4i Intelligence Unit of the Rivers State Police Command have arrested three suspects for armed robbery.

The three suspects, who were arrested by officers on a stop-and-search operation on the Port Harcourt-Owerri Road, were said to be from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Grace Iringe-Koko, said in a statement in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, that the suspected criminals were traveling on the road before they were arrested.

She disclosed that exhibits recovered from the suspected armed robbers include a cash sum of N2 million, five guns, ammunition, knives, military uniforms, eight photographs of individuals on their death rolls, and other items.

Among the photographs in their possession is that of Barrister (Mrs.) Dayo Odunlami, whose husband was assassinated on Monday, October 19, 2020, around Kainji National Park in Niger State.

When asked how they came to have several photographs on them, one of the suspects said they were out to eliminate those in the photographs.

Grace Iringe-Koko further said all the suspects would be charged in court at the conclusion of the investigations.

Iringe-Koko enjoined residents of the state to remain supportive, law-abiding, and vigilant and promptly report acts of crime and criminality to the nearest police station.
