Tinubu Confers Colonel Rank On ADC

President Bola Tinubu’s Aide-de-Camp, ADC, Nurudeen Yusuf, has been elevated to the rank of colonel in the Nigerian Army.
The announcement was made by Dada Olusegun, the president’s Special Assistant on Social Media, through a brief tweet on Thursday.
Olusegun shared three videos capturing the moment President Tinubu decorated Yusuf with his new rank and congratulated him during a ceremony at the State House.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu decorates his Aide-De-Camp, LT Colonel Nurudeen Alonwonle Yusuf with his new rank of Colonel at the State House. President congratulates ADC and his family on the accomplishment,” the tweet read.
Yusuf, who began serving as President Tinubu’s ADC in May 2023, was initially appointed with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
His promotion to the rank of colonel comes six months after he was named the traditional ruler of Ilemona town in Oyun Local Government Area, Kwara State. The appointment followed the passing of his father, the late Oba Yusuf Omokanye Oyekanmi, the former Elemona, who died in May 2023.
The presidency had previously confirmed Yusuf’s appointment as the heir to the throne, citing his acts of kindness and humanitarian service, which had earned him admiration from the people of Ilemona.
To formalize his position, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq presented Yusuf with a staff of office on July 13, 2024.
Despite being chosen as the new king of Ilemona town, Yusuf has chosen to continue his role as President Tinubu’s ADC.
In the interim, he has appointed a regent to oversee the affairs of the community until he assumes the throne.
