A political group, Asiwaju Shettima Presidential Agenda, (ASPA) on Monday said, Osita Izunaso’s emergence as the Senate President would enable the All Progressive Congress (APC) get a foothold in the Southeast geopoliitical zone, while facilitating national cohesion.
Sitrep gathered that the director-general of the group, Igho Osiebe, said in a press conference on Monday, that Izunaso who is the oldest ranking Senator from the South-East, should be given an opportunity to create balance in national geo-poliitical representation
“We urge the party to nominate Senator Osita Izunaso, the most qualified ranking senator from the South East Zone, who fulfils the issue of merit and zoning,†Osiebe said.
He also suggested that the choice of Izunaso would open the path way to endearing the ruling party to the minds of the people.
