Adesina, Former Buhariâ€™s Spokesperson, Returns To Sun Newspaper As Vice Chair

Former Special Adviser toÂ ex-President Muhammadu BuhariÂ on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, will on September 1, assume the position of Executive Vice Chairman at The Sun Newspaper.
Adesina, who served as the Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper before his appointment as presidential spokesperson , toldÂ The CrestÂ in an interview on May 26, his last working day, about his new appointment approved by the companyâ€™s founder, Senator Orji Kalu.

â€œI came from The Sun newspaper. I was the MD/Editor-in-Chief (of the publishing company). And when I wanted to leave, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu said â€˜donâ€™t resign, you may get to the government and you donâ€™t like it. You can always come back. Or, you may get to the government and stay eight years; you can always come back. Iâ€™m going to make you the Executive Vice Chairman of the company.â€™ Not only did he say it, he issued me the letter. Yes, I have the letter,â€ Adesina said in the interview.
The long duration to start the new job, according to the medium, is to allow Adesina â€œenjoy a well-deserved rest having been unable to go on leave throughout the eight years he served as the ex-Presidentâ€™s spokesman.â€
â€œThe former presidential aide intends to go to â€œa quiet place somewhere in the world to write his memoirs,â€ it added.
Adesina was appointed Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) by former President Buhari on May 31, 2015. He had served as the president of theÂ Nigerian Guild of EditorsÂ (NGE)
