On the 9th of August, 2024, a delegation from the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Special Marshals , led by SM Ruth Ebri, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of Afriq Arbitrage System, Mr. Obol Jesam Michael at the organization’s head office in Abuja.
Special Marshal (Mrs.) Sarah Omoyele, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, expressed gratitude to Mr. Michael for granting them the opportunity to meet with him at short notice. She proceeded to provide an overview of the Special Marshals as the volunteer arm of the FRSC and their activities across Nigeria, emphasizing that they are a dedicated group made up of men and women of unquestionable integrity who are passionate about ensuring safety on Nigerian roads for all road users.
Speaking further, Mrs. Omoyele intimated the Afriq Arbitage CEO on the Special Marshals upcoming Zonal Conference scheduled to hold between September 20th -21st , 2024 at the nation’s capital Abuja. According to her, the event is being organized by Special Mashals from FRSC Zone 7, comprising of the FCT and Niger State. She further stated that the event which rides on the theme: "Leveraging Technology for Improved Traffic Management and Enforcement: The FRSC's Digitalized Approach, would feature a gathering of top officials, experts, and stakeholders in the field of road safety and traffic management who would facilitate insightful discussions on how technology can be harnessed to address challenges in traffic management, improve enforcement processes, and enhance overall road safety outcomes across the country.
In his response, Mr. Obol Jesam Michael commended the initiative of the Special Marshals describing it as a selfless service to humanity and one that would save many lives. He stated that as a body of volunteers, the Special Marshals have positioned themselves as a point of reference whenever and wherever talk of citizen participation in national development arises. Mr. Michael thereafter announced a significant donation of 2 million naira towards a successful hosting of the Zonal Conference and expressed his willingness to support such future events organized by the Special Marshals.
In her vote of thanks, Special Marshal Ruth Ebri expressed the group’s appreciation for the generous gesture exhibited by Mr. Michael, stating also that and the donation and commitment from Afriq Arbitrage System's CEO underscores the importance of partnerships in advancing the mission and objectives of the Special Marshals.
