Valuables Carted Away As Armed Robbers Terrorise Angwan Albarka On The Outskirts Of Abuja

Residents of Angwan Albarka bordering Abacha Road, a descent neighborhood sharing boundary with the FCT at the Nasarawa state periphery have been thrown into panic mode as armed robbers numbering over Fifty (50) violated the serenity of the area on Wednesday, 13th of August, 2024 in the early hours of the day (2am).

Eyewitness accounts confirmed that the robbers numbering over 50, armed with guns and machetes gained access to the premises by cutting the barbed wires on the fence and uprooting the metal protectors on the balconies and breaking through the doors., At Gun point, residents were forced to release their Sim Cards, ATM Cards with their pass codes, telephones and their access codes as well as laptops and other portable electronic devices. Even the children were not left out.

They had their earrings and other jewelries taken from them claiming it was gold. In a particular estate of 8 flats and a Self-Contained, 8 flats were robbed,

This same pattern of robbery had been reported in Kuchyiako Area of Masaka Axis a few months ago.

They move in their 50s or more with guns and machetes, speaking Hausa language and usually start their operations around 2am and are very swift and vicious.

As at the time of filing this report, it has not been ascertained if the incident has been reported by residents to the Abacha Road Police Station. A report to that effect will be made as soon as we can confirm that.
