FHC dismisses suit seeking Ganduje’s removal as APC national chairman

A Federal High Court has dismissed a suit seeking the removal of Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The North Central APC Forum had filed the suit, arguing that Ganduje’s appointment breached the party’s constitution, as he is from Kano State in the North West geo-political zone, not the North Central zone.
Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the suit, citing the plaintiff’s lack of locus standi and failure to provide credible evidence of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The judge held that the group is not a juristic person and that the APC’s national chairman can only be appointed or removed through a national convention.
Counsel for the plaintiff, Ayuba Abdul, vowed to appeal the judgment, with the group’s leader, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, expressing disappointment but resolve to continue the legal battle.
This development comes amid ongoing debates about the APC’s leadership structure and zoning arrangements.
