The National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Chief Segun Erewa has commiserated with the Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal and his family, over the passing of their matriarch, Hajiya Dayyabatu Lawal.
Chief Erewa described Hajiya Dayyabatu's death as not only a great loss to her immediate family, but also to the many lives the late matriarch touched.
He noted that the late Hajiya Dayyabatu lived a life of devotion, humility, and service to humanity, and left behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and moral strength.
The NOSDRA boss in a statement he personally signed said, "I wish to extend my deepest prayers that Allah, in His infinite mercy, grants the departed soul of Hajiya Dayyabatu Lawal Aliyu eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus and grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
"I received with profound sorrow, the news of the passing of Hajiya Dayyabatu Lawal Aliyu, the beloved mother of the Honourable Minister of Environment, Mallam Balarabe Lawal Abbas, who returned to her Creator on Sunday evening at her residence in Bambale, Zaria City, after a prolonged illness.
"Hajiya Dayyabatu lived a life of devotion, humility, and service to humanity, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and moral strength. Her death is not only a great loss to her immediate family, but also to all who knew her gentle spirit and exemplary character.
"I commiserate with the Honourable Minister, his entire family, and the good people of Zaria over this painful bereavement. At this moment of grief, we pray that Allah (SWT) enfolds the family in His mercy, comforts their hearts, and rewards their patience.
May Allah forgive her shortcomings, illuminate her grave, and admit her among the righteous."
