18 aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 10 from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are vying for their parties’ tickets in the upcoming Ondo Governorship election. The intensity of the race is increasing as the date for the primaries draws near.
The focus has shifted to the mode of primaries that will be adopted by both the APC and PDP. As the political atmosphere in Ondo State gains momentum, the parties are preparing for the party primaries in April, which will ultimately determine their candidates for the November 16 election.
The APC has attracted 20 aspirants, including the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and former lawmakers. The PDP, on the other hand, has 10 individuals who have shown interest in contesting for the Governorship seat.
The mode of primaries has become a topic of discussion among the political figures involved. Observers and key players believe that the outcome of the primaries will significantly impact the direction the November Governorship election will take.
In addition to the APC and PDP, other political parties in the state are also making preparations to select their own candidates for the election.
