Senator representing Delta North senatorial distric, Prince Ned Munir Nwoko has officially dismissed recent rumors alleging that he is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him.
In a statement released by his Director of Communications, the reports were described as "entirely baseless, malicious, and a product of pure speculation." The statement also debunked claims that the senator made remarks about music icon Tuface Idibia and polygamy, emphasizing that such allegations were fabricated by bloggers seeking attention.
"As a well-known public figure, and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for attention-seeking bloggers to spread falsehoods. However, we wish to make it clear that Senator Nwoko remains focused on his national assignment and committed to delivering on his political mandate. He has no time for distractions," the statement read.
The senator’s media office urged journalists to verify information before publication and warned against the spread of fake news, reminding media practitioners of the legal and ethical implications of misinformation.
