Less than 24 hours after she lost the bid to replace her husband, Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial Zone, Tony Nwoye has appointed the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Justina Azuka as a legislative aide.
Azuka was appointed as Senior Special Adviser on Special Duties to the federal lawmaker.
Recall that Mrs Azuka had contested election for the Onitsha North 1 State Constituency, previously held by her husband, Justice Azuka, before he was kidnapped and eventually killed.
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday announced the result of the by-election, declaring the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mimih Ifeoma Azikiwe winner, while Mrs Azuka came closely behind.
It was also gathered that her appointment came with a basic salary of N200,000, and this has been applauded by many who believe that the appointment will cushion the effect of the loss of the husband to her, and also cater for her family.
